This page explains what happens to the details you give us when you register as a Founding Buyer at The Style Vote. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The Style Vote is operated by BDIB Global LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales (No. OC435067), which is the data controller for everything described on this page. Wherever this page says "we", it means BDIB Global LLP.
When you register we collect your first name, email address and country. If you choose one, we record whose taste you back (Amara, Gia or Mei). If you make a pick in a drop vote before you register, we record that pick, including a decision to back none of the three, which counts as a real answer rather than a blank.
We do not collect payment details on this site. There is no shop here yet.
Registering creates your Style Board, the record of what you have backed. It holds your Founding Buyer number, which is issued in order and does not change, and a history of the products you have backed with the date of each one. As the shop opens this record will also show whether the products you backed were stocked and how they performed. That record is the point of the whole thing, and it belongs to you. You can ask for a copy of it or ask us to delete it at any time.
So that we know which of our videos and posts actually bring people here, we record where you arrived from. In practice that is the campaign tags on the link you clicked, the page that referred you, and the first page you landed on. It tells us that a particular video sent people to the site. It does not tell us anything about you personally, and we do not use it to follow you around other websites.
We also record the date and time you registered, the date and time you gave consent, and the IP address the registration came from. The timestamps exist so we can prove consent was given, which the law requires of us. The IP address is used only to prevent spam and abuse.
Our lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the registration form. You can withdraw it at any time and we will delete your details.
The list is held on our own server. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. If we later move it to an email provider to send campaigns, that provider will process it on our instructions only, and this page will be updated to name them.
Until you ask us to remove you, or until the programme has served its purpose and we close it. If the shop has launched and you have not opened anything we have sent for two years, we will delete your details. IP addresses are kept for twelve months and then removed.
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@thestylevote.com and we will act within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. It does use your browser's own temporary storage to remember one thing while you are on the page: the product you tapped in the drop vote, and the campaign tags from the link you arrived on, so that your pick survives a scroll or a reload and reaches us with your registration. That storage is cleared when you close the tab and it never leaves your browser until you submit the form.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads.
The people shown on this site are AI generated. They are not real individuals, and no real person's likeness has been used. The products voted on and stocked are real.
